Quarq, Q rings, and 52/36

Whenever I have what I consider to be a really hard question, I always head over here...
The question is can 52/36 Q rings be run on a Quarq?
A 36t inner won't physically fit on a 130bcd spider, that much I know. So that means using a 110bcd. However, from what I have read and been told, a 110bcd Quarq requires the OCP3 version of Rotor's Q Rings. The "regular" Q rings don't fit onto a 110bcd spider.
That presents a second dead end, as Rotor don't make anything bigger than a 50t in OCP3 (at least that I've seen).
So the only compromise I can see is to use an OCP3 Q Ring 36t and a regular Q Ring 52t. But can that be done - in short, is the OCP3 stipulation for the 110bcd spider specific to both rings, or just the small one?

The OCP3 rings are only big rings, as there's no problems fitting the normal small rings on any crank. But yes, the OCP3 rings are only in 50/110 and 53/130.

In answer to what I have, I haven't, yet. I'm trying to work out what Q ring combos I can put on 110 and 130bcd before deciding which way to jump between 110 and 130. I have 50/34 Q rings on a Quarq at the moment, having come from 53/39 three years ago. Ideally I had wanted to go to 52/36 Q rings on a Quarq, but that looks to be a non-starter.
The closest I can get with a 130bcd is 52/39.

As I understand it Omnical allows you to swap the rings without having to send the entire unit back to South Dakota to be calibrated (or if you have a Wahoo thing that plugs into an iphone, recalibrating it yourself).

I think you would find the 50T quite alright, especially if you get a cassette with an 11T cog. You'll have a bigger gear than a 52/12 and spend more of your time in the middle of the cassette when in the big ring.

I thought that the electronics pod shape changed as well.
can anyone confirm this? Just ordered a pair of 52-38 Aero Qrings for my 110bcd Red Quarq (2012 edition)..
