I got a set of Bontrager XXX calipers and want to take them apart and sand them. It looks like in order to remove the pivot bolt you need some kind of special tool. Does anyone know where I could get the tool or have any ideas how to remove the pivot bolt? Emailed bontrager like 2 weeks ago and no answer.

Have you tried a pin spanner? I'd be careful since it only engages two of the four holes and the nut may be on tight and/or have locking compound.

It's tight but thats a great idea. im about ready to give up on these. the metal bits are the cheapest stuff ive seen on an expensive part. some of it is rusting.
