What are people using to drop some grams with their through axles?
I have a Rock Shox QR15 (15x100) up front that weighs 74 grams
I have a Shimano AX75 (12x142) down back that weighs 96 grams

So far I've seen offering from Tune, Parts of Passion and Massi but all don't have favorable reviews for reliability or user friendlyness.

There's also Carbon Ti and FRM making bolt up versions that require a 5mm allen key.

At this point I'm leaning towards FRM but just wanting to check if there are any other options out there.

My impression is that Syntace X12 and Shimano e-thru are two different designs of 12x142 axle. Syntace X12 has a conical surface on the non-drive side while Shimano e-thru uses a flat surface. That means the Syntace X12 does not work with my frame. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have been using the Tune DC15 front for a while - no problems so far. Read somewhere about someone having problems with it loosen during riding but I haven't had this problem.

That's right ;) I was hoping for cheap weight savings there but it doesn't work.

I too use the Tune DC15 for 2 bikes.

The threaded end that goes into the fork is actually threaded into the axle as well. One of my loosened over time. I used Loctite 243 to fix that. There is a hex that is broached inside the threaded end section that goes into the fork. Just cleaned it with some Alcohol and then let it try, then applied some loctite and that was it.

There is also a Skyline version of the DC15 that is even lighter. I think it is 2X the price of the DC15.

Carbon-ti got a 15x100 option that is a bit lighter than Tune. But needs an allen key to use

Old thread but asks the same question. Anyone know how Trek's ABP system is working with other axles? 90g axle wasn't so funny for my bike.
