Cannondale CAAD10 Vs Giant TCR SL 1
Moderator: robbosmans
I was going to collect a 2013 CAAD10 105 from evans tomorrow but have just seen the Giant TCR SL 1 on offer for £90 less! I can't find much on it but the geo spec and weight are very impressive (full ultegra).. Which one would you choose?
Thanks Jase

Congratulations on the new ride. Many great rides ahead.
7.5kg is quite possible depending on size.
My 2013 TCR SL0 is 6.9kg in a Medium. With the Dura ace pedals. Needless to say I was stoked and have had a ball on it.

Yes but you forget to mention your 'TCR SL0' is in fact a TCR Advanced SL 0, as in the top of the line full carbon frame. The TCR SL 1 the OP is referring to is Giant's aluminium frame with good, but not top of the line, components. 7.5kg for that bike would be amazing (don't get me wrong I would love to get my hands on a frameset!).
Yes Hakeem. I seem to forget all the time that Giant sells different bikes to different countries under the same name. And assumed that he was talking about our carbon SL1.
If OP is in USA, then yes, they will receive a AL frame.

Even in "our" (as in, yours and the one I'm living in) country the TCR SL 1 is Giant's aluminium frame. The 'Advanced' bikes are the carbon ones.
I stand corrected.
Admittedly I was focused on top of the line. When I was looking around.
Must have only looked advanced models. )

TCR SL1 > CAAD10.
TCR SL1 rides way faster. CAAD geometry is great, but is not as race-machine-like the TCR SL1.

My TCR SL 1 is 15 pounds right now with 2011 RED. It is easily the fastest Aluminum frame I have ridden including a CAAD 10 and an older Allez. Its also very comfortable considering how stiff it is.
