Admitting failure with the SC as road bike idea, once its sold I am thinking of either a Domane 6 or a Litespeed T3/T5 with Enve/Chris King build. Both will be in the range £2-3k, using existing Red/Force groupset

Thoughts on pros/cons of each?

No idea what an SC is .....Santa Cruz? Scott?.....try to try whatever floats your boat before purchasing...

I have a buddy that rides a Domane and he absolutely RAVES about it......an't be that bad if Fabian rides one all the time. If it fits right then go for it I would say.

Yes am planning a fit as part of it. Domane 6 in 52 and Litespeed T5 size M have same stack and reach as it happens

I don't race, I only get to ride 60-90 minutes at a time, and I am 42 and now out of shape. Also I live in the UK

From what I have heard about the road in the UK....and experienced when I studied abroad there....the Domane would suit your purposes perfectly.

If the Domane was disc compatible I'd be snapping one up, but the next bike I want to last me years and so am thinking disc might be the way to go. Enve now makes road disc fork, TRP HyRd calipers would let me use 2012 Red brifters.

Difficulties are finding decent disc hubs in 24h and deciding on a frame that has the stiffness, comfort and fit that I want. So a Domane it may yet be.

What about no disc brakes?! Disc's are for MTB and nothing else...

The availability of disc groupsets/frames/wheels or lack thereof is only a temporary problem now that a few of each have started to appear. The problem is being willing or able to wait a year or a couple of years for them to become widespread and affordable.
