Nibali looked unstoppable at the Giro (it looked like he didn't turn on the turbo yet) and he said in May that he would do the Vuelta, and the Worlds.
BTW, what's so special about this year's Worlds? 2013 is the year in recent history when most big names are saying "I'm gonna concentrate on the worlds".

I think it's the fact that the course favours the climbing specialists.

He is.

Cheering for Purito too. He rode such a cool TdF to pull off the podium at the last climb, in a stark contrast to earlier races. Also liking his riding style, when he turns it on, it's on.
Bikes: Raw Ti, 650b flatbar CX
Cant wait for the mountain top finishes fiesta!

Millar has turned to the dark side...
(In reference to him calling the sky bus the death star, not having a go at sky)

The world's course does not necessarily favor the climbers, but they can use it to their advantage: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/photos/ ... e-revealed
Its not a summit finish on an HC climb, but clearly there is a lot of climbing. The climb isn't long and isn't that steep, but doing it a lot of times will suck. That punchy short climb after the descent is also interesting so a lot of punchier riders such as Sagan might have a chance at it. It will be a really interesting course and probably will favor the most diverse group of riders since 2009.

I also think the Vuelta will be the most exciting GT this year. The Giro was boring, the Tour had 2-3 interesting stages, but this has excitement written all over it. Last year's race was awesome and the year prior was a pretty good nail biter since the gaps were pretty close.

Here's a fun Vuelta fact I came across on wiki:
Isidro Nozal is a former Spanish professional road racing cyclist. He has become somewhat famous for not showering during Grand Tours for fear that the water will soften his muscles. Runner-up in the 2003 Vuelta a España.

I haven't been able to spot the start list for the Vuelta anywhere, yet it is starting in less than 24hrs.
Any help?
