I just wanted to share with the WW forum, another pedal option called the Xpedo Thrust SL Ti spindle.

Here are some stats: Carbon injected moded body. Titanium spindle. Three cartridge bearing. Elastomer spring. Claimed weight of 168g. My came in at 163g/pair. L**k Keo cleat compatible. Comes with two pairs of cleats, 6 degrees (red) and fixed (dark gray) float cleats. Also comes with two sets of cleat bolts+washers, and spare bolts. 85kg weight limit.

Personal thoughts: The release tension is fixed, and after a few rides, it feels about the same tension as the Dura Ace PD-9000 pedals set at medium. I purchased these pedals on a whim, while browsing ebay, and the prices are about $220 USD. Not cheap, but acceptable for a WW pedal. Not sure on the durability, but time will tell.

Here are some pictures. Enjoy:

Comes with all this.

*Editted, fixed title from Xedo to Xpedo.

A long time ago, I owned some elastomer tensioned mountain bike pedals. I loved them until I used them during the winter, and found myself unable to unclip! I guess the elastomers hardened up in the cold.

Do you think these will suffer the same problem?

Good point. I have not thought about how the elastomer spring will behave in the cold. When it gets cold here in November or December I will find out if the elastomer will change tension.

@vinceflynow, how cold does it get in your neck of the woods? I think we need someone in Michigan to test these through the winter, not a Californian!
Road bike: Cervelo R3, Campagnolo Chorus/Record mix...
Supercommuter: Jamis Renegade...
Oldie but goodie: De Rosa Professional Slx, Campagnolo C-Record...
And you can call me Macktastik Honey Pete Kicks, thank you.

The coldest it gets where I live in California, is about 9-10 degrees Celcius (50 degrees Fahrenheit) in the middle of January. I do ride in those conditions, and will update my findings early next year. :)
