thanks :D yup, very loyal to campy 10spd. black chainring would really look great. But unfortunately, campy does not have black chainring. Stronglight chainrings would look great, but i think the original campy chainring shifts better with less chance of chain drop. wish praxis have campy specific rings.

I assume that you asked Canyon for a traditionel headset? Could you provide a picture of the expanderplug from the headset.
Btw This bike is close to perfect. :)

Nice build!

Like the internal cabling and the internal BB is cleaner

BUT, although I'm sure it's a better frame - that's progress - the previous more horizontal top tube was far better looking. Shame Canyon have jumped on the Giant MTB look

The dimensions in German (tut, tut) you've posted are a non-sequiter from your first sentence.

The geometry of the new SLX is indeed more compact. Some like that, but many, myself included, don't.

I'm sure it's an improved bike though ... excellent VFM as always from Canyon.

after all Canyon IS a German manufacturer images/smilies/icon_wink.gif" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

what I am saying is that the degree of top tube slope gets less with the increase of the frame size

OK every one is confined to his frame size, but to say that this new generation CF SLX has more top tube slope than the older generation seems incorrect

If you wan't a lower headset than you always need the silver expanderplug? And do you know what the extra weight is for the set?

If I look to pictures from evans or greipel old bike I don't see that silver expander.

I really like you're Bike

the expander sits inside the fork tube

you can recognise only by the top bearing cover (as pictired here)

What's your opinion about the bike so far? I've opportunity to go for same frame with electronic ultegra + other parts for same price as either 2013 BoB Dogma2 or 2013 Venge (little bit cheaper) frame. Not locked on any option yet, so would like to hear more about the CF SLX Canyon. Others can also contribute if so...

S-works CLP Stem. Wanted a 10 or 12 deg stem. 17 deg is too much. And this is the only option available in the market.

Remove the angled 1 1/8" shim and had a machinist fabricate a 1 1/4" shim to fit canyon steerer.

This stem is 1 1/4 wright?

What did the machinist fabricate than?
