Lol that's what I thought. After doing some research, the UD stands for Unidirectional which is directed towards the carbon layup. It's basically similar to the prior 586 models in terms of lightness however UD carbon is a bit cheaper and offers a bit more compliance than other carbon

Didn't see this response..sorry. There's not much to miss in comparing a BH ultralight to a 586. I'm not sure what type of riding you do, but if you do race, you made the right decision
