Looks not bad but i am sticking to my Dura Ace 9000 pedals. Shimano's bearings and reliability has won me over.

Interesting that the tension now goes up to 20 from the previous 16 assuming the new 20 is still measured in nm the same as the 16 was. Wonder if it was a pro request type thing to have an even stronger/stiffer setting than 16nm?

20 nm seems high. Seems like most of my friends run their Keo 2 Max pedals in the easiest settings or close to it. I run mine pretty loose too.

Easiest setting for Keo 2 Max (non carbon) would be 9 Nm according to look. They range from 9-15 Nm.

Oddly they claim the Look Keo 2 Max Carbon is 12-18 Nm.

Not sure why they are different. I wonder if that is a typo.

Oooh, that pedal looks very clean. If I had more money I'd be getting a pair!
Regarding the tension, I only use 16NM carbon blades and I wouldn't mind getting a little more spring tension. I have never had a problem clipping in due to high tension and I have managed to pop a cleat loose accidentally while hauling my SS road bike at a high cadence (130 ish).

No issues with current blades at 16NM. The new ones do look nice and are light. Pleasantly surprised that Look has also finally resolved the dreaded cleat squeak that made me swear off the old Delta Looks...
@aftereffector, were your cleats worn, by any chance?

I’m not an engineer but would guess the different length of “spring” and pivot point means they’ve upped the nm rating but maintained the same level of engagement tension as the old set up. Just a guess.

@mrlobber, no reason to pay retail. Wait a wee bit and your Google fu skills will lead you to purchase these at a very significant discount on MSRP.

Yup, look at the MSRP of the current Blades then go on Ebay and look at some of the sellers with brand new in box sets for ~$140ish. Heck even on Ribble for example you can get them for roughly that amount or even a bit less depending on sales
