You didn't "bag" a bargain, you "stole" it at that price. Congrats!

You just can't pass up great deals and the final product is outstanding.

I don't recall reading much about Mavic tires. Let us know what you think of them after some rides.

Very Nice! you have got to love a Scott CR1, did you happen to weigh the frame before building? Interested in the weight differences from the non HMX version.

Changes made in bold. Weight now 14.14lb

Upgrades planned are Alligator links and a SRAM red Black rear mech for aesthetic reasons. Need to trim the steerer to slam the stem!

Loathed to swap the seatpost as it looks so nice! Also the bars are 234g and although not the lightest they are stiff.

Looking at Carbonsport 38mm clinchers for the future. Veloflex tyres to as I read they complement latex tubes well.

Bottom brackets already showing wear after 1000 or so miles but don't know what I could swap this out for that would lighter and more durable.

Nice changes! I'm trying to get mine down to 14lbs too.

Where did you get the cages from?

I have the 2012 CR SL as sold by Scott (DA 7900 group, Kysrium SL wheel set).

I really like the bike but am considering moving on to a S Works Tarmac or Canyon Ultimate CF SLX. Reckon I am going to notice an "upgrade" or I am already on such a great bike that I will be left unable to notice a lot of difference?
