@PSM - 11 grams will certainly not lead to my untimely demise. The premium they charge for this saddle, however, is based solely on the weight savings over the R1 (?), so it's just kinda funny from a product marketing / positioning perspective.

kfreytag -

I have had most of the disappointments you have mentioned regarding weights in the last year or so. Selle Italia also posts weights on their saddles packaging. 11g off for them would be accurate. I also bought a Lapierre Xelius. 850g claimed for a 55. Mine was 1001g. Over 15% off.

That said, your Parlee is one gorgeous bike. I just had a steel cross/gravel bike built and asked the builder to shoot for 1500g, but that I didn't want to sacrifice quality (ride, durability, etc) solely in the name of weight. Total weight ended up at 1650g, and I couldn't be more excited to get it in my hands. All that to say, when you are done the bike will still be silly light outside the context of WW. Within the context of WW it will be one of the nicest combinations of looks, weight and performance on the site.

Chapeau!

regarding your weight...was there a choice of tubes, i.e., some are lighter than others...?

overall, 1041 grams is not that bad considering the ISP....my Z5 SLi in M/L Tall was 810 grams and my favorite lightweight seatpost is 148 grams...all said, with the rest of your components it will build up under 15 pounds easily...and it's going to be gorgeous...

I didn't opt for any special tubing, though we discussed it. My understanding is that Parlee is now doing a common "level" of tubing unless someone is a tad, shall we say, heftier, in which case there is a stronger tubing they'll apply.

Thanks! I'm really pleased with the way it's shaping up. Here are a few shots I took just to get a sense of the paint out in the sun:

I, too, would agree that red looks amazing. If I ever get a road-bike, that'd definitely be an option.

The only thing that bothers me, which has nothing to do with this bike, is that Parlee's logo has horrible kerning. I've seen worse for major brands (such as Nivea), but everytime I see that Parlee logo it's infuriating that someone said "ok" to that logo. Which is the exact reason I didn't like the third image.

simply amazing!

If i had to choose paint for my z1 (waxed black) it would def be a candy colour. Either blue or green.

LOVE IT!

That color is the weight well worth it!
And I'm still enjoying the hell out of my Z5! Whenever I have been riding other bikes, getting back on the Parlee is like getting home!

Holy shit. Can't wait it see this finished.

If you "paid" 200-250g for that paint, it was well worth it.
