Help needed from wheelbuilders for 24 spokes on 36 hole hub.
You are right. It's been awhile since I've thought about this.
Which front hub pattern did I "pass along"? This one will work well for 20h, but I'm not seeing any good ones for 24h. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=91823&hilit=lacing+pattern#p790183

formerly rruff...
I had a wheel built by legs11 on this forum a few years back along these lines ...
- P-X 50mm carbon tubular rim with 24h drilling
- 32 hole Campagnolo Record hub
16 DS and 8 NDS, missing every other hole.
Worked absolutely fine. One concern was the drilling was offset alternately (i.e. 12 holes offset one way, 12 the next), making it sub-optimal as some of the DS spokes entered holes they shouldn't have. But it worked.
That said it wasn't as stiff as the straight build I did (same rim and spokes) with a DA hub 12 each side.

Bricky21 - because one side lines up perfectly and the other side is offset slightly? It just means the lead spokes are slightly shorter, the trail spokes are slightly longer...or vice versa depending on which way you build it. It's so minimal that it doesn't matter.
I've build a 36 hole Hope Pro 2 disc hub on a 24 hole Notubes Alpha 340 rim. I've been riding and racing cyclocross on it...that includes dirt road rides including water bars/getting airborne at 50-70km/h. I used the same spoke length for the lead and trail spokes on the slightly offset side. It's a little bit tricky to get even tensions as you can't just preset the depth of the nipples. Do a little fiddling, get even tension and you'll have a perfectly sturdy wheel build.

Thing is there isn't any reason to use a spoke pattern that's out of phase when you can have a symmetrical 12/12 wheel with the pattern I drew up earlier. Lacing it 2 cross on both sides may be the only 24 spoke option the for a front wheel though.
