Last year I bought myself a Giant XTC 840 with a LX crank upgrade, and have so far replaced the bars, seatpost, front wheel, front brake, front tire, forks, rear tyre and chainring bolts with lighter gear, so ive been knocking off weight left right centre, yet the bike still felt heavy, as its one of the only original bits left I weighed the back wheel . It turned out that it weighed as much as my rear Halo Combat off of my DJ bike! Over 2kgs! I have ordered a new back wheel its a deore disc mavic x717 with a 105 cassette which should be a bit lighter! Oh and I only weigh 8.4 stone so me and my bike will be flyin' soon!
