How many aluminium road frames are lighter

I think the CAAD thread shows that theses frames can build into awesome bikes

during one of the OP's 20 post edits, he must have fixed his typo. it used to say 1781 kilograms. i know caad10s are nice, i love mine.

More parts came in. Ritchey carbon 100mm stem (117g) and carbon curve 40mm bars (207g). Pretty happy with the weights on these. Not sure if the stem already comes with Ti bolts, so might be able to shed a little weight there.

Carbon bottle cage from Planet X came in the mail. It weights 21g, which is great since the cage is marketed at 22g and it was only $30. KCNC aluminum bolts are on the way along with some other items.

Looking forward to seeing this built. Had those cages for 2 years on a previous bike, had to change them as I kept losing bottles when hitting bumpy surfaces at high speeds.

Interesting. What size bottle did you use?

500ml and 750ml, they were great with no issues for about a year. Think they must have stretched over time. Have been using cheap and cheerful arundel sport cages with no issues since. (You've just reminded me I have two zipp cages sat in the garage, they'll be back on the bike after work :beerchug: )

Thanks. You're right, they probably stretched.

That is the exact saddle I have.....fairly comfortable actually (up to 40 miles or so). Testing out some different (heavier) options, but I may stay with it. It just causes some discomfort, not numbness so could probably deal with it.
