His is SRAM Rival I think----mine is Dura Ace/Ultegra shifting. Mine will be 16 lbs with new wheels in a few days and some bling to juice up the looks soon.

That Colnago is DAMN pretty!!!!

Thanks Scotty----they are a very well made frame

Sorry---don't know how to post someone else's pic BUT there's a mountainbike on page 49' that has a really unique fork.

Never seen a fork like this before----is it a one-off or a production model? Beautiful mtb.

I assume you mean this one? A little assist. You need to use a photo host such as Photobucket.

So, here goes. I had posted these to the Introduce Yourself.

Yes, I have two Titanium Lynskey bikes.

Image

I got the Lynskey Helix OS in 2011 as my first real road bike and was/am very happy with it. I had set it up as a training bike with the sturdy training wheels with HED. C2 rims, 28f2x/32r3x CX-Ray spokes, and WI MI5/H3 hubs; though it still came in at a respectable 7.1 Kg. Well, I was/am very happy with it - I had increased my ride ability from 500 miles/year to over 450 miles/month, increased my average speed from 15 mph to 19 mph, increased my average longest ride from 30 miles to 60-70 miles twice every weekend, and lost almost 20 lbs in a year. I now have ridden almost 7000 miles on it.

Well, Lynskey was re-introducing the R330 as limited test run in 2012 and I made the mistake of talking to Don Erwin, their sales manager, about the bike. He made me a super offer that I could not refuse (well, I could but I did not) - I ended up getting the frame, with bright-brushed finish and etched logos for less than $1500. So, referring to my childhood days, I would have to say that, Don Erwin made me do it, it is not my fault. I put together the R330 with more sensible components as I upgraded my Helix and got a SRAM Quarq power meter. All built up, it weighs 7.8 kG but is a super comfortable bike with less aggressive geometry eventhough the R330 and Helix OS are set up almost identically. I have ridden only a 1,000 miles on it but have ridden two centuries on it already. I think the slightly less aggressive geometry similar to the R230 and combined with the diamond-shaped Ti tubing delivers a ride probably very similar to the standard Helix for half the price (for me). Value-wise, it is a homerun, hat-trick, triple-double, touchdown (any other sport analogies?).

My stylistic preference for bikes seems to be oscillating between "fancy" and "subtle", so after having spent a few years on a racy-looking carbon steed, I could not pass up on this NOS no-name raw Ti frame bargain. This is the first iteration of a build for leisure rides and utility/gravel/rain/rando duty. Tweaks are likely to come over time, including the possibility of a 650b conversion and use as a travel bike.

Frame: no-name raw Ti
Fork: Colnago Star 1"
Handlebars, stem, seatpost, headset: Ritchey WCS
Spacer: FSA Carbon 1"
Bar tape: Fizik Performance
Saddle: Selle San Marco Phobos
Group: Ultegra 6700 unless noted otherwise
Crank: FSA Carbon Pro Elite Compact ISIS, SKL BB
Pedals: Ultegra 6600
Cassette: Shimano SLX 11-34
Brakes: Sram Apex
Cable housing: Nokon
Chain: KMC X10SL
FD clamp: BBB
Bottle cages: BBB
Wheels: Mavic Open Pro Ceramic 36h, 3x DT Swiss Aerolite, XTR 965 front, Ultegra 6700 rear, non-QR steel axles
Tyres and inner tubes: Vittoria Pavé 27mm, Continental Tour 28mm

Weight is about 9kg (bathroom scale). I seem to be more interested in the personality of a build lately, than grams.

Have had this Omega for a few years, but never ridden it much as I've leaned more towards steel.

Anyway, just had it resprayed and rebuilt: Extralite cranks and stem, KCNC brakes, Van Nicholas seatpost; had them polished. Put the new 9000 mechs and levers on; new Mavic tubulars with Veloflex tubs.

Came in at 6.9 kg, so I'm happy at that weight.

05 Merlin XL Compact , I hope to have it in the sub 14 range in the next month even with keeping the triple chainring  it is a good climber as is but with some Zero Gravity brakes and KCNC products on the way it will be "The Ultimate Climbing Machine" I"am hoping to do some Colorado mountains in a year and that triple will help my 50 year old body up the hills
