Just confirmed by Patrick Lefevre. There is a verbal agreement with both rigoberto uran and alessandro petacchi, Petacchi would sign for the duration of 14 months.

I guess Petacchi could be a good leadout man? No longer has the snap to be tier 1 but knows his way through the final km?

Isn't that what Petacchi wanted to do anyway, retire early so he could become part of Cavandish's lead out train but the UCI blocked it...

Froomstrong on what the commentators are calling a "surrealistic" attack. something never before seen on the Ventoux, a seated high cadence attack.

Everybody relax, Paul said Froome was born at altitude. Thank god. I was questioning just for a second.

He looked like a buzzy insect there. With a sting.

kind of amazing, seeing Froome to drop with ease all the best climbers in the world and be almost as good as the TT world champion.

If he is real, then it is a true once in history phenomenon

So Froome lost 3 minutes to the Armstrong era but is still doping yeah? Must be really rubbish at it.

Contador also lost 5 minutes to his former self, Hmmm.

I agree completely Salsalover.

Does anyone have a list of the fastest ascent times and Froomes time? I'm curious to how he stacked up.

It could be interesting to see his time up D'Huez. I'm betting he goes sub 40, maybe sub 39.

I was about to ask the same, Ghost!

This is an excellent article written before the stage: http://www.sportsscientists.com/2013/07 ... rd-by.html
Now we just need some data from the stage that was just completed.
