Is it a trick when there is no risk of falling off?

Didn't watch all of it. But was it really just non-handed and standing up?

Sorry to disappoint guys. Pretty basic tricks. I'm probably not as talented on rollers as most here it seams.
Main intent of the video was to show what I do to change up my training during the winter. I threw in some info about the emotion rollers and a few tricks.
Thanks for watching.

Christ no. I'm terrible at rollers.

Can only do non-handed and stand up sprints. ;)

Then fall off. Usually.

i wish i could do no hands but with no front bumpers and a track record of coming off i cannot. it is very handy to be able to go no hands as it gives your back a break and hence increases the time you can spend on.

also that resistance is handy. 400-500 watts is alot to maintain on rollers and makes them a more useful training tool for sure.

this is actually a decent demonstration of a roller system that could be used, instead of say a kickr, for training purposes. my trutrainer rollers are great but maintaining 400-500 w is not really happening. plus no suspension of course.

I have some Elite Real e-Motion B+ rollers which are ANT+ FE-C controlled (Zwift, TrainerRoad, etc) which are pretty easy to ride with no hands and other silly tricks. In terms of watts, it's difficult to hold more than 300w for a sustained period of time. I think this is because of their 4" diameter. In my case, I need to be around 105 cadence with 52-11 gearing to hit 300w.

I also have a set of Kreitler 3" rollers which are like black ice compared to the Elite rollers. They're much harder to ride without hands, but happily allow the same 300w to be generated with about 95 cad in the same 52-11 gearing.

Since getting hooked on rollers, I've almost totally abandoned my fixed wheel Tacx trainer. It's just too boring, compared to rollers.

Is it possible to get these rollers in Australia? I can only find the Eleite version.

This is kinda strange. I have the regular, non Real, model, with a manual switch. In the secound position, I also have to spin in a big gear to get 300w, but on the 3th position, I get 300w at something like 30km/h, so 500w short efforts are no problem at all. Are you sure everything is OK with your rollers / connection to 3th party software etc?

I *think* they are o.k. But the software and calibration process from Elite is terrible. I ran a calibration process about 10 days ago, using the Quarq as a 'validator'.

When I ride the Elite rollers, I always simultaneously track the data from a Quarq. Here is a little snippet from last night with 30-second intervals in the 350w range, as reported from the Quarq:

There is some kind of patent infringement issue between Elite and InsideRide, with respect to the floating frame.

I needed to purchase mine in Europe and have them shipped through a friend in the UK (I live in the USA). Pity it was so much trouble... there's a market here in the USA if InsideRide would properly adapt their product for FE-C.

I'd love a set of the Inside ride ones for non kickr training :)

This is exactly me. Cycling skills work in winter time. I sold my powerbeam pro earlier in the year and bought a tacx flux. Still have not received the flux as US distribution was delayed and now have a kickr.
Power training is one of the most efficient way to train to eliminate most external variables.

With rollers there is already very little flywheel effect, so if I want to up the resistance I just close my rear brake a bit. It's a good (enough) approximation of climbing.

I agree with Delorre. As displayed in my video, I can maintain 300-400 watts with appropriate effort. 500+ with good amount of cadence. In position 3, efforts of 500 can be sustained.
It does sound like a calibration issue.
Good workout and different from and smart trainer. But I use both for different reasons.
