Hi,

I was in a cycling accident a few days ago and hit the deck hard on my right hip and shoulder. I did not manage to unclip in time and ended up with the bike still connected to my feet upside down. Other than some torn bar tape and scratched hoods the bike is fine.

I have been experiencing an immense amount of pain when trying to lift my right leg up, making it very difficult to put on socks, get into the car, or get out of bed. Conversely, my left calf is extremely sore, almost to the same level.

My guess is that the accident caused some muscle strain or tears in my right psoas and maybe my left calf. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I am taking it easy and am planning to be off the bike for a week or two. I feel like I am getting better with each day, but I am hoping there are no long term effects.

Thanks

I have had injuries like that.
Usually caused by the twisting that happens in a crash- sometimes with foot still clipped in.
Get in there with a lacrosse ball once the pain backs off a bit.
