I've had two Quarqs and an SRM.
Quarqs:
First died due to water ingress. Quarq replaced it out of warranty, quickly, with a new spider for $500 but came with a 2 year warranty.
2nd I've only had for a few weeks.
They read similar to my SRM, but I am getting power spikes with the second that I didn't get with the first, could it be due to the SRM PC8 headunit? Never had a problem with the Garmin 500 and Quarq.
Pros of Quarq: Auto-Temperature adjustment, accelerometer, user changeable battery and seems to be as accurate as the SRM.
Cons: Power spikes with PC8, heavier
SRM:
Mine died within 3 months of owning it. SRM was hard to get a hold of and wanted me to test with a PC7 first, which delayed the process by a week.
Pros: Works for two years without a battery change, considered the gold standard.
Cons: Doesn't work well at all with Garmin (power dropouts galore), battery can't be replaced by you, doesn't offset for temp changes.
To be honest, for the price, I'd pick Quarq over SRM if I was looking at the same crank.
