Can anyone point out any common foods or medicines that contain banned substances.Just helpful to watch out for things.

It is commen healthcare products like coughserup, painkillers or rashcreams etc. you have to be most carefull about. Always check what's in them before you take them and ask a sports doctor when in doubt. If you really need certain medicines make sure you have a doctors attest for them.

Substances will vary per nation so I'd suggest you refer ot the body you ride under.

In Aust we have ASDA and their web site includes info about which medications are banned and which are acceptable for competition use.

In England he also have ASDA and most people find it unacceptable. (sorry couldn't resist)

We dont have an asda this far north!

I recieved a whole load of info froms cottish cycling who i train with but was just wondering on any brands.Looks like its just mainly medicines.

I heard if you eat enough popy seeds(a lot!) you will test positive for something......forgot what it was. So stay away from MAC-ers! :wink:
