Hello,
After completing the 20min FTP Field test, do I only have to subtract the 5% from the average power, or do I have to subtract the 5% from the FTHR as well?
Thanks a lot for all reply’s in advance.

And depending on your muscle composition, it could be as much as 8%. The Wattage group on Google has more info on FTP testing that you can shake a stick at.

yeah sure but I think it does not worth banging your head arround.

When I first got my PM, I was really questionning what was the best method to estimate my FTP. In the end, you need to sacrifice some accuracy by using one method or another. Its is this, an estimate.

Exactly, so long as you test and retest in a similar fashion, the differences wont be huge.

Personally, I dont even bother with a formal test anymore. Just have a loop that takes me a bit over an hour, hammer it as hard as I can when I feel up to it, and see what eventuates.
