Not really hot yet, especially in the mountains. Best cycling time there is spring and autumn (october). Summer is suffering. I was there with my bike in june once and i just had to step outside to break a sweat, let alone on the bike If you start at 6am and go up, it's still ok though.

No one has ever accused me of going uphill fast, but I rode the Gross Glockner in Austria this past weekend (with a mountain goat member of this forum - he rode a lot faster than I, that is for sure). The climb from Brück to the Fuscher Törl rises from 757 meters to 2,428 meters. That course is 27.7 km long. The average gradient from the toll station (about half way) is 12%. It hurt me...
