Is there anyone on the board who would be willing to speak to me off-forum about getting started in working with carbon fiber (bike related)?
- sourcing of raw material (carbon sheets)
- resins required
- techniques
- hazards / limitations
- equipment required

I am based in Vienna, Austria and any thoughts / advice for a newbie would be appreciated.

This info is not needed for any manufacturing and resale plans, just some home work shop experimentation for my own enjoyment because I have some free time these days.

I'm curious about this type of thing, I always have, and I have amassed some info, but nothing enough to help.

Try going to frameforum.net - they know their business. They range from amateurs to experienced framebuilders in carbon, titanium, steel etc.

Both Dark Albert and Samu work some magic with CF. Both are in Europe so their suppliers could be suitable and would probably be worthwhile PM'ing with questions.

Composite pro's one of the most knowledgeable carbon guys on frameforum, so if you haven't moved over to there yet, try him first.
