Just wondering if anyone here might've stumbled upon the weight of the new Deore XT 'trekking' hubs for rim brakes...
FH-T780 and HB-T780. Seem like they might be good for a budget-ish cyclocross wheel build, but without knowing their weights, it's tough to decide.
They are listed for sale at a bunch of online stores... chainreaction etc, but no weights listed.
On Shimano's own website they are curiously low on specs too... again with no weight listed:

Anyone got an idea?
New Deore XT hub weights, anyone?

They're quite heavy. Think something along the lines of "too heavy to bother weighing" type of heavy. Maybe 350+ grams for the rear alone?
They're heavy. That's about all that you need to know from a WW perspective.
But, otherwise: they're CHEAP, they're DURABLE and they're reliable. Basically all you would want for your budget cx project.

339g for the V-Brake version?
I was close in my guess.

Yeah, I was mostly checking because the listings page Deore XT hubs are from 2004 and 2008... Was wondering if there's a difference in the new version. Annoying that Shimano don't give a weight.
Where did you get the 339g figure?
If I can push my luck here with going a little off-topic: any simple answers for a good budget hub for a wheel build around the £200-£300 mark? (with the proviso that I'm fairly set on Velocity A23 rims)...

The Shimano XT 770 (Vbrakes) is listed at 339g (2008), 32h.
The Shimano Deore XT FH-M770-S is listed at 404g (2008) but includes a skewer at 64g....
So 339g or 340g is pretty spot on.
