I got a van tuyl catalogue today and their frames seem pretty good at a good price. I have a fork I like, so I'm just interested in the frames. Are they relatively light? (<1500gm) Anyone have any info on their frames? Thanks

Van Tuyl

They have the weights on their website! It is in Dutch, but if you want to know anything, I'll try to do my best!

I don't have any experience with these frame's, it's a Dutch company so maybe there are some Dutch riders here that have one?

Their full aluminium frame is claimed at 1480 gr., the more expensive one with cf rear stays is claimed at 1495gr. I have no idea how close this is to the real weight. AFAIK the frame's aren't anything special but good value for money. What particular frame are you looking at?

Here is my situation. I live in Arizona (great training in the winter because its temperate, the t-mobile guys come out almost every winter) and there are sporadic CX races in town. I bought a very inexpensive frame to go with a good selection of parts I had lying around, just to see if I liked CX racing enough to warrant a new frame for next season (which i do). My girlfriend was kind enough to provide me with an Alpha-Q CX fork. I got the catalogue and saw that the all alu frames retail for under $500 US, which is a pretty good price. I am also looking at the Higher end Fort CX frame, which without fork is pretty similar in price. Anyone have experience with either?
