I'm running a 38/42 set up on my cross bikes atm, and it's very hard I find to get the mech set up correctly, singe you can't set the front mech at the hight you normally would as you'd catch the small chainring when shifting.

Has anyone got around this in any way?

I'm probably going to go to a 44 big ring which may make things a little better, the only reason I got the 42's is I was thinking about going single ring.
