Recently the board software has been updated and there are some known bugs/failures:
- Avatars are currently not being displayed ✔ FIXED
- Tapatalk connection is currently broken ✔ FIXED
- Avatars cannot be uploaded ✔ FIXED

Please note that we will soon do some changes in WW board template design in case to get a fully mobile/desktop responsiveness board!

Hi!

I'm looking for low- or mid-priced wheelset for the next cyclocross season, and maybe for road training. I need stiff and durable wheels, because I train rough terrain sometimes. The weight is significant, also...

These wheelsets come into my prominence at the moment:
- Shimano Ultegra WH-6700
- Mavic Aksium Race
- Fulcrum Racing 5 (maybe the CX version)


What are Your opinion? Other suggestions?

Or should I build sg? What kind of hubs do You recommend? (Ultegra 6600? Dura 7800? Miche?) Rims? (Open Pro? Reflex? CXP?) And spokes?

DA hubs to HED tubular rims. The wider rim is strong and perfect for cross.

A set of wheels built on Mavic Reflex rims should be fairly cheap (cheaper than an Ultegra wheelset). I bought a set last year and so far I really like them (they have Dura-Ace hubs)!

Agree with the above, tubulars and Hed.

Will also throw out Cole 25T's. Not real expensive either.

I'd look into the 28/32h Velocity A23 rims they are strong, affordable, and fairly light. Ultegra hubs would be easily serviceable and keep the price down. They seem to be hard to get now in a 28h front hub. So maybe a Dura Ace front hub Ultegra rear. You could do revolution spokes front and NDS rear and Comp DS rear. I would expect that to be around 1700g. A lot of the weight would be the hubs. I only suggested clinchers because the three wheel sets you listed were all clinchers.

That said, I just built up a wheelset with Ultegra hubs and Stans Alpha 340 rims. I needed something for everyday use that wouldn't break the bank and still be somewhat light. I'm also a big fan of tubeless after running it on my MTBs. I'm planning on trying the Hutchinson Bulldogs tubeless.

I've been using DA 7700 hubs with Mavic Open Pro's for a few seasons now. They've been super reliable for some racing and a lot of gravel road/trail rides througout the summers. Not the lightest out there, but I've never had to worry about them, and the hubs are rebuildable, which is really nice!
