I've had front rim problems running 303's on the road and Zipp fixed me up with a nice dimpled front 303 leaving my old rear needing an upgrade as well. So I decided to cross the rear until it failed or cracked, and then get it replaced. The do have a nice service for that, so why not see how well it holds up, as the fronts haven't. Seems odd as the rear takes the pounding. I really like how the rear feels as it is not a pave or cross specific rim. I did manage to crack it on a tree root. I did my usuall trusty JB weld repair and after 3 more races it's still solid. I only have two more races and it will go in. We have no dangerous fast descents so I feel comfortable with my repair not causing a problem as our courses are pretty slow and twisty. I run Griffo 32's for tires and will miss the Zipp when it goes in and becomes a road only wheel again--can't afford to keep fixing them.
