It would be really great if you guys could post some pics of your cyclocross bikes. Im actually wondering if there are any freaky light sub 16 pound bikes out there. you would really have to trust your equipment, that being said though there are some pretty light mtn bikes so it should be possible.

My Empella, almost exactly 8 kg (~ 17.5 lbs). Would be around 16 lbs with racing wheels and tubulars.

Could be, but they suffer from reliability issues. Former world champ Bart Wellens broke several frames (at the seat stays) last season.

I have a kona Jake The Snake frame built up to 18 pounds even. It has taken me two seasons to get it there, but I hope to be in the low 17's next season. 16 sounds really light though, almost too light
