I was there, and tried to hop the barriers on a practice lap... made it over the first one and then smashed into the second one and flipped over the bars, and I'm a pretty damn good mountain biker and can bunny hop well over 2 feet... He must have had his front wheel up practically as he landed. I still can't figure out how he was doing them so fast.

i agree it was quite impressive, but not because the barriers were high (i thought them to be slightly low), but because they were so close together.

And a true WW- that's a 17lb / 7.7kg Cannondale he's riding. Set up with the lightest sponsor correct stuff he can get, then fully bolt tuned as well. If he could ride tubulars he'd be closing in on sub 16lbs...

Those were full size 40cm planks in the video, placed UCI regulation 4m apart. But because they were placed on uneven ground they were actually more then 40cm high- in one spot I measured 50cm!!
