they are lighter and it clears the mud alot better than low profiled rims...
if it´s muddy, there will be alot of it between the spokes!!! :D

for cross probably aero, the deeper section is better for mud.

My coach told me the carbon wheels are a lot more supple and that's one of the main reasons to use them beside weight.

Yeah, carbon will dapen the vibration than many other materials, but it shouldnt be hte main reason for buying carbon.

I would only use carbon wheels for cx racing if I got them for free... The cost is huge and the benefits aren't that high.
