I think velonews commented on how it was a bad decision, but still he beat 34 others (24th place), including Wicks and Trebon, so it wasn't all bad. I guess some guys just can't let go of 'cross season, heh.

So that is where you would expect him to be in the results? A CX bike or an MTB does not really matter then...

I have ridden a cx bike in a flat and fast mtb race once, but still thought I would have been faster with an mtb as I got quite a pain in my back after 2 hours. I don't think there are many MTB races where a cx bike will be faster then a mtb, but maybe this one was.

depending on the course, i've see some riders with good sucess racing Short Track on CX bikes...
