Hi WW,

I currently have a kona jake the snake CR which has a carbon frame and fork, 105 groupset, mechanical brakes. Front is Trp Hy/Rd, rear is a cheap single piston brake as my Hy/Rd broke. The bike has quick releases and a matte finish.
I am looking to get into CX racing this season and will also use the CX bike as a commuter, light mountain biking duties and maybe some gravel. The options I am considering are getting a Giant, Norco or Flanders or keeping my current Kona. I am thinking I will sell my Kona and buy a new one because i want thru axles (stiffer, safer), hydraulic brakes (more control) and a gloss finish (less mud pickup). What would you experts and enthusiasts out there suggest? Anyone have experience with the different bikes?

Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2
$3200 AUD
Sram rival hydraulic
Thru axles
40t, 11-36
Not sure what BB type?
140mm rotors (too small?)
Well known brand, seen the bike around

Norco Threshold Carbon Rival
$3400 AUD
Sram rival hydraulic
Thru axles
40, 11-32 (too small a cassette?)
BB86
160/140 rotors
May be able to get a decent discount though my LBS

Flanders Forte w/ Rival upgrade
$3200 AUD
Sram rival hydraulic
Thru axles
40t, 11-32t cassette (too small?)
BB30
160/140 rotors
Unique bike, something different, cheap wheel and component upgrade packs
