Iam looking to buy a complete Scott Addict CX 20, mainly for the frame. Its heavy Shimano 105 and Syncros wheels on now, is it possible to get it close to 7kg with 1300g tubular wheels and CX1 groupset you think?

Or is the CX20 frame that much heavier compared to the CX10 that it will be a waste of money, if I end up buying CX10 anyway?

I cant find any frame weights on the Scott Addict CX20.

i have no experience with either frame but this article has a blurb about the 2 frames.

"Strictly speaking, these numbers only apply to the Addict CX 10 that is constructed from Scott’s HMX carbon fibre. The HMF version of the frameset that serves the Addict CX 20 sacrifices some stiffness and weight for affordability, however the improvement in comfort is largely preserved."

the Addict CX 20 in the same size weighed 8.90kg. Interestingly, the Addict CX 10, which sells for almost twice the price (AUD$NA/US$6,000/£4,899) of the Addict CX 20, is just ~1kg lighter.

I think you meant for the previous poster to look here: Re: The official : what have you bought today in which a respondent posted about the CX 20. :beerchug:

1140 with bb is extremely light for cross frame. "10" weight is around 850g... Question is how impact not resistant so so light shell.... ?

I have several thoughts- I have the CX10 and have ridden it offroad for 1.5 years.

I have not broken or cracked the frame- I have crashed at least 3-4 times. At least one of them was major.

The frame is light- But at a certain point a bike weighs what it weighs. You can get weight out of it by going 1x- but it will take every light part, carbon bits for everything, like carbon tubular wheels, light tires without much tread and light pedals like Eggbeaters, if you want the bike to weigh 7 kg.

Mine weighs 8.228 kg- built with 9170 DI2, 9000 SRM 50/34, SRAM 1170 11-36 cassette (heavy), 9000 XTR pedals, Enve M50 wheels with WTB Riddler 700x37mm tires, and all carbon bits.
I could make it a bit lighter , but then I would sacrifice gearing or parts that I like.

I just -almost- finished build my Look X-85. Weight will be around 8.4-8.5 for Frame weight : 1430g Fork weight : 570g ( uncut ) .

Components: crank Red22 36-46, sram BB GXP, shifters DA 9001, RD & RD Ultegra 8000, cassette REd 11-28, chain Red, pedals XT8000, seatpost Easton EC70, saddle Aliante 180g, stem pro vibe 110/10degrees, bar Easton EC90 SL3 44cm, wheels 1540g .

It was 8.2 on full sram red, but decide to switch for Shimano ( crash replacement was reason nr 2 , nr 1 was levers shape, specially if in thick gloves sram are just to small )

So your bike is "to heavy" for so light frame :noidea:

Great it prove its durability over time  - that's always my concern for "light" frames used offroad.
