After searching and not really finding any info I was wondering if anyone modified a front 685 shifter for 1x? I didn't get a chance to get a good look under the covers but I wanted to remove the shift mech and drop down gear lever and be left with only the brake lever. I was going to just remove the cable but it looks like I could drop some weight from the lever by removing the shift mech and make it look alittle cleaner.

Sram red were very easy, the 685 lever looks like its possible but a lot more playing around and alittle filing here and there to make it look smoother but I doubt it would go back together if I needed it later on. Heavy is an understatement.
