Hey all

Looking for advice/recommendations for a crankset for my CX race bike. Currently running a Quark Riken with SRAM carbon arms and a Raceface 42t nw chainring. Functionally it is fine, but this is weight weenies.... IIRC this setup with the SRAM team BB was pushing 800g

Requirements:
  • Power measurement - ok with left leg measurement but not crazy about it
  • 68mm spindle No BB30 etc
  • an option for direct attached chainring a la wolftooth preferred

Any ideas?

If you're wanting to run a direct chaining then anything spider based is out the window. Probably your best option is to go to a Stages/4iiii

Force crank with stages and direct mount. That's what I'm running.

A P2M Rotor crankset mounted with 1X setup would do the trick, and pretty light also. Even with a 30mm axle, with a BSA30 BB. The Rotor Inpower is advertised at 525g ( without battery or chainring).

I'll run my DA 9000 left crank arm with a 4iii Precision PM on the CX bike this fall. Will probably just swich the left arm, and istall my old 7800 crankset with a single Narrow Wide ring. Not the lightest but easy swap, and functional.

Louis :)

I use Force 1 with P2M type S. Good function, easy to install/change battery, relatively affordable, no issues with chainline.

Is the Force P2M a BB30 or GXP interface?

Easton/RaceFace spindle with Hollowgram arms and Garbaruk single ring.

Garbaruk has the best chain retention of any ring I've used.

That'll fit in a standard English BB? Any chainline or Q issues?

Anyone have experience with the Easton EC90SL?looks like it'd be the lightest to fit the bill and not too expensive to boot

It will work with a BSA30 type BB.

Chainline will depend on what ring you get, and the frame. Plenty of offset chainrings these days.

Any advise for 1x11 crank when I want a 42 tooth chainring ?
I was looking at the Quarq XX1 Eagle crank but it looks like 38 is the maximum I can run with this crank.
I prefer a powermeter with left/right option.

If you want L/R your basically just looking at quarq and p2max. Which are about ~200g each. That puts you in the 700g range. If you can work with Hollowgrams SISL2 with a p2m should be pretty light
