Hi there
I have a boardman cx team bike, the pf30 bearings sound rough but I can not remove the sram s350 crankset as the 8mm self extracting bolt is worn. I have purchased a new self extracting bolt kit but I can not undo the retaining cap! It has a arrow on it that goes clockwise but does not state if this is to loosen or tighten? I take it this would be a left handed thread on the retaining cap clockwise to loosen so it did not undo when undoing the 8mm bolt. I have tried heating up the cap with a hairdryer to free up the green loctite it appears to have on it but to no avail. Is it clockwise to undo as I can't get it to budge any ideas
Many thanks wayne

I'm pretty certain the arrow is to tighten, I had a similar thing happen on fsa cranks but lucky the cap came loose.

Thanks for replying will try to undo the retaining cap counter clockwise. Just thought the retaining cap would have been left hand threaded so that there was less chance of it coming off when you undid the 8mm extracting bolt.
