Amey - Thanks for posting this information. This is huge. I've been looking at every available option I can find, and the Columbus Futura Disc seems to be far and away the best. I even like the graphics better than many of the other competitors. I'm hopeful other manufacturers will soon follow with similar offerings. Thanks again for the info. This is why I like to wander onto Weight Weenies from time to time.

For the OP, the other to consider is the Parlee gravel/'cross fork. It's even more expensive than most of the other offerings (TRP, 3T, Enve, Whisky, and Lynskey), but, it allows for a 15 mm thru axle. Of note, you'll need an adapter to use a 160 mm rotor.

Shirt hit the fan at Jingle Cross Friday race as derailleur ripped thru the seatstays and I was forced to purchase a new frame. Silver lining is that I have an extra fork in my hands. The trouble is, that Giant fork steerer is tapered 1.5" to 1.25", so I would need to find a ZS44/31.8 top headset bearing. This will take the thread bit off the rails, but can anybody point me to a source for such headset?

Take the whole post back. Giant has MTB headset for $30-40 that has the top cup and bearing that will work. Should be able to get from LBS and then a Cane Creek bottom.

My fork/headset/etc. saga continues. I got Cane Creek EC44 bottom headset bearing today. Fits the frame, but of course I didn't account for the headset being designed to be used with crown race. Could I use this bearing in EC44 cup and fit the TCX fork in without crown race? TCX fork integral "crown race" is 45°

Here's a some sort of photo of the frame http://www.instagram.com/p/BLmtHDyhXVG
