Santa Cruz Stigmata
Moderator: Moderator Team
I am going to be adding a new cross bike to my stable and the Santa Cruz Stigmata is at the top of my list (just ahead of the Norco Threshold SL). I will be using it primarily for racing cross but it will also be used for gravel roads and winter training. The reviews online are all very positive but I know when I am looking for honest feed back the weightweenies are the best people to ask. So I would to get your thoughts on the Stigmata.

Friends who considered it decided the geo was much more gravel than cross and passed. I didn't compare any numbers so do your own research on that one.

I think the Stigmata is an excellent bike- works great for either cross racing or gravel riding.
The top 3 bikes that I have ridden all fall into that category and you cannot go wrong with any of them-
1.) Scott addict CX10
2.) Specialized S works or Pro Crux
3.) Santa Cruz Sigmata
Most of the "gravel" type marketing is hype. These 3 bikes rock on any surface- including pavement.

I really like my Specialized Crux bikes. I have a Pro and an S-works, my wife has one of each as well. Ours are the previous QR bikes but are still outstanding. The new 2017 models have gone to proper 142mmx12mm thru axles in the rear over the terrible SCS thru axle setup they used only for last season. Avoid a 2016 carbon Crux like the plague. Very good deals can be had on the QR models though.
The crux does excellent on riding gravel roads and even tarmac, as well.
That said, the Stigmata is nice.

love my stigmata, but am only using it for gravel riding.
I rode a Stigmata at a demo day, I loved it. The HT angle is steep compared to a lot of the other cross bikes out there, but it made it handle really sharp. I don't have the cash to buy one, but if I did, the stigmata would be on the top of my list.

Picked up a Stigmata a little while back. Very similar geo to Crux. Check them out on sale on Comp Cyc. Excellent build in the CX1 trim, Everything on the bike is pretty quality.
