Hutchinson Sector 28 to 32

For those interested, i would like to share that Hutchinson will release Sector 32 end of April -16.

So, anyone using Sector 28?

I am all eyes and ears on how they are!

I run Sector 28s tubeless. My favorite road tubeless tire.
Light and good ride.
On a Grail...it messures close to 30.
I use it on rides that are mostly asphalt.
For more dirt road....I run Compass Bon Jons

I've only seen one picture of Sector 32. It seems thread is not like Sector 28!?
I think i will wait for the 32 version.

Haven't got my bike yet, but i have 4 pairs of tires so far.

Schwalbe S-one(30mm), G-one (35mm).
Hutchinson Black Mamba CX (34mm)
Conti Top Contact Winter II (37mm - not tubeless)

Before we new that the wheels were going to take ages to get to the dealer, i thought i were going to get it in February.
Now it seems, middle of April.

Isn't it heavy?? Now I'm using Schwalbe One Tubeless and I'm gonna considering Sector 28 for commuting.

I had the Schalbe One Tubeless 28s.....the Sector 28s were lighter and rode much better.
Just mounted up the One Pro 28s....lighter, but haven't ridden them due to a snow storm.

If you are using big tires.....I recommend the Compass Bon Jon 35s.....light and ride is so nice like a tubular

Sector 28 is 295g
Sector 32 is 315-320g

Only used Schwalbe One 22 and 24 tubular.

The other tires is for a new road, gravel bike which will have No tubes Avion.
Different bead and bead hooks compared to standard clincher rims

I have ridden Sector 28 all winter. No punctures or hassle despite it being (another) wet British winter. The Sector 28s ride very nicely and give away very little on weight or speed to a racier tyre. I did have an off when using them back in October, I wasn't really paying attention to the state of the road on a country lane and suddenly found myself sliding along the road at a left hand tightish curve. The road surface was damp and a bit muddy, I don't know if any other tyre would have been any better.

Have about 2,500 miles on a set of 28's. No problems at all. Purchased a set of Schwalbe Pro One 28's, but have yet to ride them.

I run Sector 28 on Grail wheels too.
I laugh at gravel and junk found near edge of the road. I got yelled at by fellow road riders for not calling out "road hazard"

Are all of you running tubeless? I lose air a lot quicker than I like with Sectors. I was previously on Vitoria XG pro which didn't have this problem.

What rims/ wheels are you using?

I have never used tubeless. For my new bike i will try to keep to tubeless as much as possible.

A well-sealed tubeless tyre approaches butyl inner tubes in air retention when using sealant. If you're losing air faster than you like, something is probably not perfect in your tubeless set-up. The seal of the valve on the inside of the rim can be troublesome if you're using tubeless tape and the hole in the tape for the valve has a little split or something like that.

Just did my first ride on the sector 28s. TBH I found them a hard ride , running 80 psi . I've come off vittoria open pave 25s with latex tubes running at 80f 85r . I will try dropping them to 75psi and see how they feel , but was very disappointed yesterday

80psi on tires that size will be harsh, regardless of your size. Even 70psi will be high, depending on your weight, IMO. I run 25's at 90/95 (tubed) and 33's at 35-50 (tubeless), depending on the purpose (CX race vs. gravel ride vs. road ride on gravel tires) the terrain, and I'm 100kg.
