Just spotted Red 22 175mm gxp cranks on Bikeradar for £80. Scratches (but hey - you shouldn't see spotless cranks on a CX bike).
Look 695 aerolight eTap 11
Boardman TTE eTap 11
Brompton S2 LX ti custom
Trek 5500 1994 Sram Red 10
Boardman CXR9.8 eTap 11
Open UPPER - DA 9270
Ridley x-fire Sram Red 10

and lots of non- WW others.

Thanks for that, was ideally after BB30, but have sent the seller a message.
Ah, I see you have also sent him a message, sneaky. Will keep double checking bike radar though

You are welcome to first dibs, but I'll take second! I have a few bikes that would benefit from an upgrade to Red compact

Hi,

I've just bought a Merida CX 500 52cm 2016 (prefered the color and price), but still waiting for the delivery. I have a few itens waiting to upgrade on it:

- Spz CG-R seatpost
- Spz Phenom Pro saddle
- Roval Control Carbon 29 wheels
- Rotor 3d24 crankset with Sram CX1 44T chainring
- Rotor Ceramic BB
- Roadlink
- Deore XT 11-40 cassette
- FSA 90mm stem
- Spz 44cm alloy dropbar

I am so anxious. As soon I receive it I'll post pictures. Can someone guess the resulting weight?
PS: Decided to sell both Roadbike and MTB and buy a CX. Took some of the best itens to put on new bike.

The Rotor cranks and XT cassette are fairly porky. I'd say you're going to break even.

RS500 46/36 cranks + 105 cassete + FD: 1208g
Rotor 3D24 + CX1 44T chainring + XT 11-40 Cassette (No FD): 1043g

Still saving 165g+ using this setup.

Just weighed mine as specced above. 9.04kg. Ultegra 6750 cranks coming very soon, not a massive weight saving but better than the current ones and got them very cheap. Will put it under 9kg.

Should add, (since I realised it was weighed as 9.27kg on the previous page). Firstly it's using a different set of scales, so I will try and calibrate them to see if the 9.27 or 9.04 is more accurate. I have also changed the axles, which has saved 80g. (so more like 9.19 vs 9.04)

Also, afon, I'd expect you'd get a weight around 9.3kg! It's going to be similar weight to mine, maybe a bit less because it's a smaller frame.

The front was approx 90g, rear about 75g. Switched to a MTzoom front axle (had a couple of issues, so had to fit a few Alu washers) and then just got a halo hex skewer for the rear.

Update: Issues with the MTZoom axle. I couldn't find a 138mm long 15mm axle, so bought the fox one instead of the rockshox one (it has 13mm threaded length not 9mm) and given it's 148mm long, then needed some Al washers to space it out. So it isn't the most attractive looker, but it tightens up nicely with the 6mm allen key, and is worth it for the saving! Axle was £29, washers were £2/3 so better than 1g/£.

I just had the rear one in my tool box, could've bought a lighter one but didn't see the need.

Yesterday I could start mounting my bike. 9.25kg. But I decided to put Hydraulic 105 STI's and Ultegra RD, so it's not the definitive weight. Image --> https://flic.kr/p/PK1WHZ

Update! It's been a while but things are happening again :)
New today, thomson KFC bars (217g for 44cm, replacing the stock alu bars 326g)
LIzard skins 2.5mm DSP tape shed a few g over the stock bar tape too. Weight dropped to 8.89kg
I think the next step is the rotors. Thinking of Quaxar Axim 160mm rotors (can't run 140mm) and Ti rotor bolts. Could be upto 100g saving, need to weight the rotor that's on there at the minute to confirm.

Also next steps, MCFK headset bung (-15g), MT zoom seatpost clamp (-22g)
