Genesis Equilibrium as a cross racer?

What do y'all think? Could prob get away with a 32mm tyre in the rear stays, right?

Not familiar with the frameset, but the images returned in a web search indicate a frame intended for randoneer/touring type rides and looks to already have some tight clearance with road 28c tires and would accumulate mud very quickly.

Just get a Croix de Fer.
I've recently got a Croix 30 and it rides great. Also, there is not alot of weight difference between the Croix and the Equilibrium, but the Croix has proper mud clearances.
If racing is the sole purpose of the bike though, you might consider something lighter, as they're both a bit porky compared to alu/carbon offerings.
