New Zipp 30 CX/Gravel Wheels
Moderator: Moderator Team
Just announced today, Zipp has a new option. MSRP is $1,000, which is remarkably affordable for Zipp.
Clincher (tubeless) and Tubular models, built on aluminum rims. 24-spoke. I may pick up a set for my Crockett.

Looks like tough competition for the Stans Grail wheels.

It was nice to be able to demo the wheels with various tires at different pressures. Rode them with rock-hard 25mm Zipp tires up to squishy 1.9" Specialized knobbies, and didn't experience any problems. Really excited about being able to run a 10-42 cassette on my single-ring gravel rig.

Aluminum tubular rims. Cutting edge. Why can't zipp figure out tubeless carbon like the rest of the industry?
I doubt anyone will pay $1,000 for them.

I should have revised that... There's no way anyone HERE will pay MSRP for them. I think we know pretty well that these wheels, although nice, aren't so much better than Stan's to justify the significantly higher price tag. Honestly, I wouldn't even consider these wheels at over $800, and even that's a stretch.

Wow $1000......Some Pacenti Sl25 rims, 28 F and R lasers or cx-ray and half descent disc hubs would be around that weight or under and cost maybe $500 built with parts from Bike Hub Store. Or for around $500 http://www.pro-lite.net/road-wheels/revo-a21w-iso. Maybe I am just too practical.....
