i am looking for a bike that can do it all- i am planning on doing equal parts cx racing, single track, dirt road exploring, and a very short commute to work.

i've narrowed it down to these 2- mostly because the price is right and i like the way they look. i do a fair bit of road racing so this may even function as a winter /rain training bike.

does anyone have an opinion on either of these? i understand that the ridley has a higher bb.

I currently have a Ridley X Fire and am also interested in upgrading to a Giant TCX Advanced Pro 1 if/when I sell the Ridley.
It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.

what do you think of your Ridley? I'm wondering if the high BB is a liability on a road ride.

I like my Ridley. I do not notice the higher bottom bracket. I use it for cyclocross races, gravel training rides and gravel ultra-cross races. Thinking of getting some tubulars for next CX season. DT240s hubs/HED Belgium rims. They are convertible from QR (Ridley) to Thru Axle (Giant TCX).
