Hi,

I contemplating on purchasing a CX frame that comes without a fork.
It requires a tapered 1 1/8 - 1 1/4 disc brake fork, but when I look around online and on eBay i mostly find 1 1/8 - 1.5" (1 1/2).

Also I'd prefer a 45mm rake.

So what options are out there?

Whiskey Parts Co. is the only obvious choice I can think off without using Google

Sounds like a giant frame, maybe ask your local dealer if they can source one.

Err.. We can start just dropping manufacturer names followed by "?", that would be really helpful

I allready looked at ENVE and and AFAIK Enve only do the CX fork in 1.5".

yes, thanks. The HD9900 1-1/4 to 1-1/8 would be an option and then go for a non tapered 1 1/8 fork.

I need to read reviews of 1 1/8 forks used in CX then. I assume the reason for using tapered 1 1/4 and more common 1.5" is to add stifness to the front end.

I'm just bumping this in hope that anyone have spotted a 1 1/8 - 1 1/4 tapered CX disc fork.

One the other reasons for the push to bigger steerers for cx is due to the use of canti brakes: If you have flex in your fork steerer using a headset mounted cable stop, you get some real nasty shuddering in your front braking due to the in phase oscillations that can result. Its common to go to a fork mounted hangar or mini-v's to work around this.

There may be less of a need for the tapered steerer with a disc fork, which may be why you are having issues sourcing one.

I don't think there are any canti bikes with 1 1/8 - 1 1/4 forks out there in the marketplace.
