No. They are different. Try looking at Pictures of them. Hosing is different.

Sorry dude, the calipers are the same, there may be a slightly different banjo fitting for the hose (but that's the hose kit and you can change that to a lighter Magura or Yumeya hose anyway) and a different colour, but the actual caliper is the same unit:

Now XTR race calipers are different for sure (and no doubt Shimano will change the colour and rebadge them Dura-Ace for 2016 prodcut cycle...)

ah yes, the RS785 has the "in-line" style hydro hose line rather than a banjo, I guess that makes it a bit easier to thread through forks. Evolution not a revolution.

it also plays nicer with internal routing, which on CX bikes usually runs on the inside of the frame.
