Can anyone recommend lightweight disc rotors for racing?

I've seen the alligator red and windcutter rotors that are really light.

Or is it stupid to scrimp on rotors as there won't be much material on the disc?

Helen Wyman uses these:

Saves around 50 gram per disc compared to SRAM.

Wow.. they look good.. apart from

These rotors are only compatible with organic or resin disc pads]#

I know what organic pads are like in the wet on my mtb.. god knows how the pads look after a muddy and wet race.

i suppose Helen has got her Pit bike

If you race, you'll need to brake and loosing weight on the discs doesn't seem the very best place, at least on the front.

From what I've read, the best disc in the 80 gram range is the Hope x2 floating rotor, my next front for when the hs1 dies.

I'm now using HS1/ai2 both in 160mm, the ai2 is always bent but will give a chance to a new one and see how many time it lives.. semi pads and R1 racing.

i wouldn't use anything other than Hope floating, HSX or HS1 rotors.. every 'light' rotor i've used has been utter junk, those three offer great braking performance at a reasonable weight.

those solid titanium ones do however look good... but at $110 a pop, that's double even the Hope floating rotors.
