I have new 12 speed AXS.
10 to 50 with a 40t works on the gravel
On the road I am looking for something close to 10 to 42. Does anyone make one..?

You can go with a Rotor cassette. https://blog.3t.bike/2019/09/12028/grav ... ivetrains/

You're limited to SRAM. There's also an 11-50 Eagle but it uses a shimano freehub and has the same 2 tooth jumps for the first 5 gears as the 10-50. It about 1/4 the price though. If you have DTSwiss hubs, swapping freehubs is super simple.

I currently run Force AXS on my Open with a 10-33 in a 1x configuration. My intention was to go 2x when 3rd party AXS compatible 2x chainrings become available(I'd like to keep my EC90 crank with Cinch powermeter) but I'm seriously considering switching the rear derailleur to Eagle, using the Rotor 11-39 cassette and stay 1x.

12-50 or 12-51 (sunrace 12s cassette 11-50/11-51 with 11-13 replaced by 12-13) will have 417/425% range ≈ 10-42 range

12-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-33-39-45-51 (MZ903 MZ800)
12-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-32-36-42-50 (MZ90)
12+13 (Y1Y912100 Y1Y913100)

I'm listening in on this one

I currently have a Force AXS + Eagle AXS setup with a 10-50 Eagle cassette + 48 chainring that works fine, but I don't think I'll get to use the 50 on the cassette, so anything close to a 10-42 would be nice. The spread on the Rotor cassette looks tasty (11-12-13-14-15) but a 10'er would have been nice for fast paced road usage / group rides

I'm looking at this as well. I think Rotor also makes an 11-43 or so, as well as an 11-36 which would work well for me in CX.

Garbaruk makes a 10-48 (10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42-48)

Rotor: Our cassette spacing is compatible with other 12s derailleurs on the market, so yes you would be able to run the Eagle derailleur and chain with our 11-36, 11-39, and 11-46t cassettes. Wider ranges may be possible but you will want to ensure your derailleur is able to handle the tooth count spreads and larger cog sizing before trying it out.

If you have a freehub body that is easy to swap like dt swiss, I would go Shimano cassettes. They will shift better than the eagle alternative and you can get 10-45 and 10-51.
