Chain occasionally getting stuck between rings.

The spirit of Grav-lo-cross. No but seriously, cyclocross and gravel go here!

Happens when you have 8sp rings with 10 speed chain or 9 speed rings and 11 speed chain or similar.
I know that from experience.
Make sure you have 10 or 11 speed rings to start with.
I think the crank standard is unchanged (thickness wise) but I'm not sure, just an observation on Campa cranks.

edit: Come to think of it; Campa used a small shim behind the rings on the bolt behind the crankarm to compensate for thinner rings once.

Out of curiosity, can you measure the thickness of the crankarms?
A DA 7800 that I had laying around is 3.47mm (.136)

Don't you mean the thickness of the chainrings? Surely the crankarms are wider than 3.47 mm :)

Where the rings are mounted on the spider... If the crank are thicker than normal
and that is causing the problem I would change or file down the crank.
Other rings would/should be fine if it is same as Shimano.
Think it would be worth checking before getting new rings, after all new cranks usually comes with rings.

Been running a Wolfstooth single chainring with no catcher up front with no drop problems. Even in the mud where they mention you SHOULD run a catcher. Not sure if you thought of switching over but a 42T with an 11-28 cassette seems to be the sweet spot around Chicagoland.
